When considering an addition to my .45 ACPs which are all 1911 variants, including a Kimber Ultra Carry II but in a different caliber, I decided the 9 millimeter should meet most requirements, including use by my wife. The Springfield 2007 "Gun of the Year" has been amplified in 2013 to include 3 proprietary magazines, a dual magazine belt holster, and a 'perfect fit' paddle holster, which is very similar to the Galco I use for my .45 1911s (in fact, this gun fits the Galco). Having already committed to the higher price category of carry pieces, I paid less than 1200 including micarta grey grips. Those grips have a thumb groove headed to the magazine release, a very nice feel, and the 1911 angle (different from the Glock). Overall, the feel is nice compared to a 1911-style .380 Llama I had some time ago--much more substantial, but still small and very concealable. Very pleased with the pistol. Handles nicely and is accurate at 20 yards, though I'm seeing a slight but "statistically significant" difference in accuracy when compared to my Kimber Aegis II Ultra. At $1200 it would have to be perfect to get 5 stars in everything.
